Chickamauga National Battlefield

We took our first trip to Chickamauga Battlefield.  This is the site of the bloodiest two days fight in the Civil War.  Thirty-four Thousand men died in the two days of battle.  This was a victory for the south, as the federals retreated back to Chattanooga.  The park is the oldest and largest of the national battlefields.  Monuments are throughout the park locating where each division of men fought from.  Interestingly, there is only one grave in the park.  It is an awesome experience to see the area as those brave men saw it.
